Tyler Perry wants to work with Diana Ross so bad he's written a movie for her! Diana Ross hasn't acted since 1999 but the Madea mogul wants to change that. Diana received Oscar praise for her work in Lady Sings the Blues so that will be a tall order! Perry said the following about the upcoming role: I have the perfect role for her. And I haven't shot that movie yet because I'm waiting for her to say yes. It's a jazz movie set in the 1940s, and (Ross) would play a jazz singer who runs a juke joint (music venue), and I just wish she would do it. Will this be Diana's big screen comeback?! Casting season is in full effect and Ashley Tisdale is the latest celeb coming to the small screen. The actress has been cast in Louis CK and Spike Feresten's comedy for CBS, a project that was initially written 13 years ago. Ashley will play a hipster assistant to a vintage clothing designer trying to make it in NYC. Will her fashionista character be a Devil Wears Prada homage?! Such a horrendous tragedy. To recap - last month, the Costa Concordia cruise ship ran aground off the coast of Italy. It was carrying 4,000+ people. Earlier today, we learned that eight more bodies have been found in the ship's wreckage, bringing the total number of confirmed dead to 25. Seven people are still unaccounted for at this time. This is truly disturbing. We've just learned that Seinfeld/Super Troopers actor Daniel von Bargen is currently in critical condition in a Cincinnati hospital after shooting himself in the head. Following the botched suicide attempt, Daniel called 911 and said the following to the operator: "I've shot myself in the head…and I need help." “I shot in my temple." When asked if it was an accident, Daniel said he was "supposed to go to the hospital" but "didn't want to." He also said that he has diabetes and that he was going to have "at least a few toes" amputated during his hospital visit. Very, very sad. We'll cross our fingers that Daniel makes a full recovery.

This isn't good! There are a few SAG members that are NOT keen on the idea of a SAG-AFTRA merger, so they've filed a lawsuit today asking the court for a preliminary and permanent injunction to stop SAG from calling for a vote on the whole issue. Here's what the suit claims: 'The suit claims that the SAG Board has breached its fiduciary duties to conduct an actuarial impact study detailing the effects of the proposed merger on SAG membership pension and health benefits. The complaint was filed in U.S. District Court, Central District of California.' And here is what the people who are upset are saying about it: “We have spent almost two months negotiating with SAG in an effort to get them to present the truth regarding this merger plan. Member are entitled to full disclosure, not half truths and misleading and unsupported promises. They have done nothing of substance to support their claims that the proposed merger will protect SAG member benefits. The average SAG member makes less than $10,000 per year. They need to know that all necessary due diligence was done to protect them.” “We believe the defendants made this announcement in order to thoroughly saturate the media with pro-merger propaganda, avoiding any balancing information which would allow SAG members to intelligently evaluate the issues prior to voting. If an uninformed membership approves this merger, and then we all learn that it will have crippling, negative effects, it will be too late for anything to be done to return SAG or its current pension and health plans back to their current status.” Ugh, sounds like a mess! We wouldn't wan to be anywhere near this crazy storm... It should be said, however, that we do hope everything is worked out and nobody gets the short end of the stick because of all of this.
